We work hard to make sure that our affiliates are fully equipped to succeed. The most frequent ask questions are listed below:
Q: Are all Web sites eligible to become our affiliates?
A: No. We evaluate all affiliate applications and notify each applicant of acceptance or rejection. We may reject any affiliate application if we determine, at our sole discretion, that a site is unsuitable for the Program. Unsuitable sites include those that:
- Promote sexually explicit materials
- Promote violence
- Promote illegal activities
- Promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age
- Otherwise violate intellectual property rights
If we reject your application, you are welcome to reapply to the Program at any time.
Q: How often are affiliates paid?
A: Affiliates are paid by check monthly. It is sent once a month assuming you have earnt the minimum $25 US required for a check to be cut.
Q: Who sends the check?
A: All checks are sent from LinkShare.
Q. What are return days?
A. Return days define how long between the first visit to a site and the purchase date that you can be credited with a sale. For example a 0 day setting means the purchase must happen on that visit, a setting of 1 day would mean a purchase within 24 hours of the first visit. We know that not everyone makes a purchase within 24 hours and research shows that it can take up to 2 weeks for a person to decide to buy a product. GAIAM Affiliate Program offers 45 Return days.
Q: How many GAIAM links or banners can I display?
A: Affiliates may place and display as many links (both text and banner) as they choose. We encourage affiliates to place multiple links and banners on their site(s), the more exposure it is, the more commission affiliate gain.
Q: Is it ok to run email campaign?
A: For all affiliate partners who would like to run email marketing campaign for GAIAM, please contact AMWSO for approval and guidelines.
Q: Where should I place the links on my site?
A: You should place links where they are easy for your site visitors to find, such as your home page, your navigation bar, and any high traffic area. Links also receive more activity when they are above the fold on the page.
Q: How often should I update my links?
A: You should update links frequently. We are constantly adding new graphics and links to help you meet the interests of your visitors.
Q: Can affiliates operate Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaigns for GAIAM.com?
A: Yes, some of our most successful affiliates manage highly lucrative PPC campaigns. However, we do not allow bidding on our trademarks. Please see the suggested keywords available under Tips.
