additional commissions in the process.

While e-mail may be the fast choice of the day, who knows whether ones official email will actually make it to the destination it was sent, or be read when it gets there. There are too many barriers in the way. SPAM filters, personal and network filters. After beating all those hurdles the email may end up straight in the trash, it's easy to ignore email. Concepts for promoting the Western Union Telegram® service.
Impact: Send a message with a personal touch. With a history dating back to 1851, it's a classic way to wish someone the very best. Great occasions for sending a telegram message include birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, get well, sympathy, congratulations, holidays, and other special events.
Access: Getting a letter through to a person someone wants to reach can be difficult at times. A telegram is less likely to be opened by a secretary or other office person than a letter. Promote the fact that telegrams have a higher potential to reach the people they are sent to than traditional mail.
Reliability: When a person sends a telegram they know it's going to arrive at the destination it was sent.
Speed: Telegrams are fast, reaching anywhere in the USA. Promote the speed of sending a telegram over a standard postal letter.
